Informeren gebruik windtunnel voor PWS

My name is Jelle, currently in my final year of vwo. For my profielwerkstuk (research project), I am studying airplane wings in as much detail as possible. The aim of my project is to answer the main research question: What is the physical principle behind an airplane wing?

In addition to the theoretical part of my research, I would like to conduct an experiment in which I design, 3D-print, and test several wing models. After reading about the TU Delft facilities, I learned that the university has a closed wind tunnel. I also saw that it is possible to use smoke in the tunnel to visualize drag and other airflow patterns, which would be very valuable for my research.

Although I still need to develop more of the theory and complete the models, I would like to ask if it might be possible to test my wing models in your wind tunnel once they are ready.

Het klopt inderdaad dat de TU Delft een grote windtunnel heeft, echter is de toegang daartoe gelimiteerd. Het is niet mogelijk om langs te gaan en zomaar een tijdslot te reserveren. Hiervoor heb je een toezegging van de TU Delft nodig die eigenlijk alleen wordt gegeven voor eind Master onderzoeken en speciale projecten van professoren aan de TU. Als je graag een praktische proef wil doen zou je wel bij ons op het Science Centre langs kunnen komen om in onze windtunnel je 3D geprinte vleugelprofielen te testen. We gebruiken geen rook maar wel worden de aerodynamische waardes gemeten die vrij accuraat zijn (tot een zekere hoogte).

Binnenkort komen er datums beschikbaar op het forum onder de workshop 'vleugelprofielen', hier kan je je dan voor inschrijven en dan behandelen we naast de algemene workshop ook nog jou eigen profielen. Mocht je dit willen dan heb ik nog wel een document voor je die de instructies geeft welk formaat en methode wordt gebruikt voor de profielen.
